This is a benefit afterparty hosted by Psymposia and sponsored by the Multidisciplinary Associations for Psychedelic Studies, MAPS, & SSDP following Day 1 of Horizons Perspectives on Psychedelics 10th Anniversary Conference. 

Psymposia is a digital magazine and events group that covers psychedelic science, stories, drug policy reform, and harm reduction.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) is the only international network of students dedicated to ending the war on drugs.  

MAPS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.

Duncan Trussell

Duncan Trussell is a stand-up comedian and free-thinker. Duncan's popular podcast, The Duncan Trussell Family Hour is known for its blend of humor, fringe ideas, eclectic guests, and great interviews.  He regularly tours the country as a stand-up comedian and has performed at Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin.  In addition, Duncan has appeared on "Curb Your Enthusiasm", “Nick Swardson's Pretend Time", Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time”, Funny or Die's "Drunk History", and is a frequent guest on the Joe Rogan Experience. 

Rick Doblin

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., is the founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). His professional goal is to help develop legal contexts for the beneficial uses of psychedelics and marijuana, primarily as prescription medicines but also for personal growth for otherwise healthy people, and eventually to become a legally licensed psychedelic therapist. He founded MAPS in 1986.


Kyp Malone

Kyp Malone is a multi-instrumentalist and member of the bands TV on the RadioIranRain Machine, and Ice Balloons.


Katherine MacLean

Katherine MacLean is an academically trained research scientist and meditation practitioner with a long-standing interest in the brain, consciousness and the science of well-being. As a postdoctoral fellow and faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, she was one of the only scientists in the world studying psilocybin. 


Joseph Simcox

As a Botanical Explorer, Joseph Simcox has dedicated his life to sharing his experiences of the vast diversity of the plant world with as many people as possible. Over the last 30 years he's explored over 100 countries collecting rare seeds and finding exotic and little known fruits. For his seventh birthday party he adamantly requested squash as presents instead of a G.I. Joe's.


Adam Straus

Adam Strauss is a writer and comedian based in New York. His monologue The Mushroom Cure, the true story of how he treated his severe OCD with psychedelics recently finished playing at the Cherry Lane Theater.  His work has been called many things, mostly adjectives. He won the New York Fringe Festival’s Overall Excellence Award for Solo Performance and the Leffe Beer Craft Your Character storytelling competition. 


Archie Jamieson

Archie Jamieson is a stand up comedian. He hosts the North Avenue Podcast from Baltimore that features casual conversations with activists, researchers, writers, filmmakers, comedians, musicians,  politicians, and urban farmers. 

Giulia Rozzi

Giulia Rozzi is a comedian & co-host of Hopefully We Don't Break Up podcast, actress, writer originally from Boston which Paste Magazine describes as "the smart friend everyone needs in their lives. An intelligent, perceptive mind that’s almost painfully aware of the foibles bound up in modern day living." Her very personal, blunt, and animated humor has earned her the honor of being a TEDx speaker, a Moth GrandSLAM champion, and recently named one of BUST Magazine's 10 Funny Women You Need To Be Watching Right Now.  She's been seen on TruTV, Vh1, Chelsea Lately, Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening, The Jim Gaffigan Show, Playboy TV and co-stars/created in the web series Seeing Other People. Her comedy album True Love was released in February 2016 and is available on iTunes. More at


Isaac Abrams

A leading artist in the era as psychedelics rolled into the American concsiouness, his large lucious & intricate pieces speak to the archetypes that only someone of his talent can capture & the slideshow of his art will absolutely astonish.

We do our best to make all of our events open and accessible to everyone. However, do to circumstances outside of our control, this event is 21+. Thank you for understanding. 

I'm already going to Horizons. Can I get a ticket there? 
We're putting aside 125 tickets for Horizons attendees. These tickets are $25 and will be available at the Psymposia table. If you are not going to Horizons please purchase a ticket here. Once these are gone there may be regular priced tickets still available, but there may not be. So if you're going to the conference, come see us early :)
