Bridging the gap between science and spirituality at the International Transpersonal Conference

At the end of September, some of the world’s greatest minds are coming together in the mystical city of Prague to discuss the true nature of consciousness and celebrate the 50th anniversary of transpersonal psychology.

The International Transpersonal Conference, taking place over four full days from September 28th to October 1st, will have more than 150 speakers participating in lectures, panel discussions, and experiential workshops. Psymposia will be there too—organizing stories from the presenters and attendees about various altered states of consciousness—including journeys beyond psychedelics.

The conference is offering a complex program dedicated to all realms related to the potential of consciousness. The goal is to “radically review our reality” and move beyond materialism, towards wholeness.

There will be seven thematic tracks:

  • Transpersonal Psychology, Psychotherapy and Clinical Studies
  • Inner Ecology, Collective Psyche and Social Transformation
  • Psychedelics – Science, Spirituality and Therapeutic Potential
  • New Horizons in Science and Cosmology
  • Shamanism and Its Potential for Modern Man
  • Mystical Spirituality as a Link between World Religions
  • Holotropic Art as an Expression of Inner Process

The event will be a major gathering of academics, scientists, researchers, therapists, artists, sympathizers and others involved and interested in the transpersonal movement and new scientific paradigms.

The conference was the brainchild of Stanislav Grof, M.D.—a renowned psychiatrist with over sixty years of experience in research of non-ordinary states of consciousness and one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology. Exactly 25 years ago, Dr. Grof facilitated the first, hugely successful International Transpersonal Conference in Prague. There hasn’t been another one since—until now.

“As scientific progress continues to lift the spell of the outdated 17th century materialistic worldview, we can see the general outlines of an emerging radically new comprehensive understanding of ourselves, nature, and the universe we live in. This new paradigm should be able to reconcile science with experientially based spirituality of a non-denominational, universal, and all-embracing nature and bring about a synthesis of modern science and ancient wisdom,” Dr. Grof explains in “A Brief History of Transpersonal Psychology.”

This is exactly what the International Transpersonal Conference aims to do—connect the dots between science and spirituality.

Attendees will be able to learn from world-renowned scientists and doctors, such as Dr. Ervin Laszlo, the founder of systems philosophy and general evolution theory, and quantum physicist Dr. Amit Goswami, pioneer of a new paradigm of science called “science within consciousness.”

At the same time, you’ll be able to hear from visionary artists Alex and Allyson Grey, and psychologist and co-founder of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies, Dr. Sandra Harner.

Dr. Grof will be speaking during the conference and is facilitating a pre-conference workshop on holotropic breathwork.

There will also be plenty of big names in the psychedelic world, such as Rick Doblin, founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, and Charles Grob, one of the leaders in psychedelic research.

If you’re looking for an excuse to have an enlightening adventure to Prague in the fall, learn from leading scientists and philosophers, gain new skills in interactive workshops, and network with a bunch of really cool people, the International Transpersonal Conference is sure to be a mind- and life-altering event. Don’t miss out, or you might have to wait 25 years for another chance.
