My experience with mushrooms was an epiphany. There’s never been a need to revisit that depth of consciousness.

My first experience with mushrooms was an epiphany. I realised everything is connected, and I felt that I was just stardust, along with other people, animals, plants, rocks, clouds and the whole universe. I felt deep inner peace and oneness, mixed with joy and a sense of beauty. It was the most positive and wonderful experience I’d ever had, and there’s never been a need to revisit that depth of consciousness change.

I became a vegetarian very soon afterwards and started exploring music, creativity and politics. I have not experienced depression since, after some very low points mid-teens, and believe it has helped me enormously. I have strict rules… no man-made drugs and no alcohol during daylight. I used cannabis for two decades but have been weed-free for 10 years now, and am very happy.
